A Buddha statue lies apparently abandoned below a Bhodi tree in the grounds of Wat Phra Singh. However, he is far from forgotten. Taken at 3.30pm in the afternoon. I'm travelling without my tripod this year, baby instead, and my gorillapod couldn't quite reach the plinth to be far enough from the subject.

Elephant and Tusk
One of a few elephant-related images from in and around Chiang Rai's Wat Klang Wiang, a historical Buddhist temple in the centre of town. Stucco elephants on the outside, real tusks on the inside. The light and shade of this particular elephant seems to highlight its eye and I think works best in B&W. Any thoughts?

Big Cat Photographic Safari (Kent) July 2009
Hi Everyone, Just like to say I had a great time on the Big Cat Photographic Safari a few weekends ago. It was so much more difficult than the Bala exercise as the subjects kept moving and didn't give a lot of time for composition. Working on the assumption that if I took enough photo's I'd be bound to get something good, I ended up taking over 1500 shots. I've since dwindled that down to 39 that I'm really happy with, and I hope to get that down to about 20. Below are a selection of my favourites (others are on my web site).

Here are a few photos from a recent visit to Sukhothai, one of the ancient Siamese capitals in Thailand. Bill.
